RHS Band Director Update
Please join us in congratulating long-time Riverside High School Band Director David Schwartz on his retirement, effective May 29. We are also excited to announce that Brad Allen has been named the RHS Band Director starting with the 2026-2027 school year.
Schwartz has been with the Riverside Local School District for 31 years. He started as the Middle School Band Director in 1995 before being named the Riverside High School Band Director in 1997. Throughout his time at Riverside he has inspired thousands of students while building a tradition of musical excellence while leading the band program with passion, professionalism and loyal dedication. From unforgettable performances underneath the Friday Night Lights to high school concerts to community parades all the way to Disney World, Schwartz’s impact has been seen and felt by the entire Riverside school community and beyond.

Allen will step into the role as RHS Band Director moving forward. He has been with Riverside High School since 2015 as the Assistant Band Director. Allen is also very involved in Riverside Theatre, serving as the Director for Fall Plays.
Prior to coming to Riverside, he was a Band Director for South Euclid – Lyndhurst City Schools as well as a music teacher at Mayfield, Shaker Heights, Belle Plaine, Madison and North Ridgeville schools. He is also a proud Riverside High School Class of 2000 Graduate. Please join us in congratulating Allen on his new role.
